Do you know where the first aid kits are located in your workplace? Do you have kits in strategic locations in your home? Do you keep a kit in your car? First aid is one of those things we don’t like to think about until something bad happens and we need first aid supplies. If you are lucky, you will only need bandages and antibiotic ointment for minor cuts and scrapes, but you need to have fully stocked kits on hand so that you can respond during more serious emergencies. Properly applied first aid can keep an injury from being worse, and it can even save a life. The size and type of kit needed will vary depending on the location and possible risks for injury. At home, in addition to having first-aid supplies in your bathroom cabinet, it’s smart to have a kit in the kitchen and the garage or workshop. You also want to carry a kit in your car, especially any time you are on a road trip or traveling in bad weather. If you are a business owner, be sure your employees have first aid kits and know how to use the supplies. At home and work, you want to check kits periodically and restock any missing or expired items.
